1). Captain Hook and Ladder (5-1)
There hasn’t been a player more dominant than Todd Gurley since the BBC began in 2012. In his last nine games played, he’s scored 18 touchdowns. Pairing him with Ezekiel Elliot, Davante Adams and Zach Ertz appear to not only the best team currently but the best team moving forward. One of the best picks of the BBC draft over Labor Day was Sony Michel in the 10th round. While the NE backfield has been difficult to predict for the better half of a decade, it’s becoming much more than predictable with Sony. This team will probably get a BYE, and to be honest, it’s hard to see where this manager has taken a misstep since acquiring the most dominant player in fantasy football history, Todd Gurley.
2). I Am Rory (4-2)
After dropping his first two weeks, this manager has now won four straight in dominating fashion. While we all have philosophies, I doubt any manager makes his known more than this one. Drafting Barkley, Hunt and trading for Kamara has him in prime position moving forward. I’ve heard some rumblings about Josh agreeing to a deal to acquire James Conner for a second rounder, but then recanting his offer soon thereafter. That’s neither here nor there, but for other mangers to take note. Multiple owners encouraged this warning league-wide.
3). Grande Se Cador (4-2)
Tom is still in the league despite the fact that no one has even heard from him since Labor Day Weekend where he drafted a very nice assortment of players. While it’s annoying that he does nothing on the trade front, one could argue he never has to because he typically walks away drafting one of the better teams. Not only that, he’s done so without his first round pick, Le’Veon Bell. Bell is a blundering idiot, and plays in a city with blundering idiots. Certainly not the best influence on him. Tom has a team that could get the second BYE in our league.
4). The Cluster Screw (4-2)
Earl is strong, but has gotten a little ahead of himself. Why in the world would be buy Marshawn Lynch for a fourth rounder when you have McCaffrey, Peterson, and McCoy. Lynch sucks, and has sucked all year. He’s not in the top 20 the rest of the way. A nightmare decision from Earl who has a good assortment of players through the draft, on the trade market and free agency. This “two-time manager of the year” continues to make questionable decisions.
5). Dixie Normous (2-4)
This is probably the best 2-4 team in the history of the BBC. We’re almost halfway through the regular season and Alex is two games behind Josh, Tom and Shula and is playing some serious catchup. With one more loss over the next two weeks, this manager will be in this grave as other managers continue to salivate over Mixon, Green, Hill and Julio Jones. I’m glad he gave up a 9th for Goff though – as he garnered a glamorous 7 points on his bench. This week, 23 QB’s in ESPN standard scoring outscored Goff – we’ll see if it pays off for him in the future.
6). Yarvard U (5-1)
Without a 1/4/5/9 round picks, Schindler finds himself in the playoff hunt on the back of Matt Ryan, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and the Ravens vaunted defense. Schindler has been forced to play matchups more than anyone due to the lack of overall talent on his roster and has beaten three teams he shouldn’t have. At this point, it’s hard to see him not winning 7 games and making a playoff appearances. Class is in session, baby.
7). Nicks Got a Chubb (4-2)
Shula has some talent on this roster. The trade with Josh acquiring David Johnson and James will most certainly be a tall tale sign on where and how far this team goes. S/O to Shula for actually being willing to make a trade and not overvaluing everyone on his roster. This is the first time he’s made a trade where you actually look at it and don’t know what the end result will be. Also for the fourth consecutive his team name sucks.
8). Prison Mike’s Riot Squad (1-5)
Justin will miss the playoffs for the fourth straight year. It’s hard to do that. He is without a doubt the worst manager in our league. Numbers prove it and his inability to make deals to make his team better in the future shows that as well. Unfortunately for Justin, the loss of McKinnon and Fournette didn’t help things and I do believe this roster is better than a 1-5 record through six weeks. He should begin to get as many picks as he can and completely give up while Fournette is actually worth something.
9). Yo Adrians (1-5)
Eric’s team is really bad, and has already given up and is looking towards Labor Day weekend in Benton Harbor, MI. For a manager that continually boasts his depth, you have to wonder when he will change his philosophy. It’s delivered him nothing over the last few years. This manager understands fantasy football and is heavily involved and can’t deliver…reminds me a lot of campus golf. Always involved, but a terrible player.
10). Duge Hick (0-6)
This two-time champion is far from fame for the second straight year in the BBC. On draft day he traded Davante Adams for Chris Hogan and Doug Baldwin and then gave up Odell Beckham Jr. for Jarvis Landry, Chris Thompson, Quincy Enunwa and a sixth rounder. Could he have gotten a better pick for OBJ? Probably. He can also join Schindler and Eric in the conversation for a terrible keeper that provided absolutely nothing. While this manager must be recognized for success in past years, he also must be recognized for this failure.
