HELLO BBC. It’s August which means it’s time for a WARM welcome back to all owners of the BBC! The fantasy season is here! As the offseason ends, it’s time for a pre-auction write up as we eagerly anticipate our time together on Saturday, 9/4 in Cedarville, Ohio.

1). $398. Eric Hoober
This bastard. I’d like to start by reminding everyone of two things: (1) after going 1-12 in 2020, Eric tried to convince every owner that he rightfully deserved MOY. What’s even more staggering is Eric legitimately believes he deserved to win MOY in 2020. And (2) against all wisdom, awareness and common sense, Eric insisted/mandated that we ship The Rack to Earl in Alaska (“Earl has to have it”). The Rack shattered and the rest is history. Not less than a year later, Eric stated to the league: “the trophy doesn’t matter. It doesn’t need to be shipped.” Awesome Eric. Makes sense.

Looking forward…Eric enters the draft with the most auction $ and a projected top 3 WR as his keeper in Diggs (Eric you are lucky SOB/bastard for acquiring Diggs.). You could say this a high-pressure year for Eric as he mortgaged his 2020 season, has never had any sort of fantasy success/relevance, owns the lowest win % in the league and lastly, gloated for months about the amount of $ he accumulated in 2020.

2). $393. Alex Scott.
A strong start to the 2021 fantasy campaign from the: 2013, 2014 and 2019 BBC champion. To no one’s surprise, Alex enters the 2021 season as one of the betting favorites to win his 4th So help me God if Alex wins 4 titles within the first 9 years of our league. And God so help all those owners who don’t have a title while watching Alex pursue his 4th.

While highly debated, I loved Alex’s move to get CMC. He now sits #2 in auction $ and has the projected best player on his roster. The only potential setback for this manager could be juggling fantasy football with his already very busy schedule.

3). $349. Stephen Schindler.
To start, the biggest winner in 2021 is Stephen as he saw Tom removed, exiled and eradicated from the league. No one is happier and no one complained more about Tom. Also, I’m not sure the league will ever again see the haste in which Stephen accumulated financial assets like we did in 2020. He secured mass amounts of cash in hours of announcing his fire sale. It went about as quickly as Shula did on his wedding night (can you guys picture Shula having sex? LOL).

On the rolling hills of Cedarwood Country Club…a private, beautiful, charming and quaint southern golf course (insert comment from Justin reminding us he plays golf a lot), a trade was made in which Stephen sent $10 to Alex in exchange for JJ. A great value trade as he kept majority of his financial assets. However, Stephen decided he did not want JJ and shipped him to Peter for $12. Stephen is now undecided on his keeper and is waiting until “the last possible moment” for a deal. This is going to be published before August 25th @ 3:00pm…so who actually keeps between now and the deadline is TBD. This manager is willing to SPEND in the draft…so the top tier back he is looking for is vey much still in play.

4). $298. Grant Kovac.
Grant is back from his bachelorette party! He is tired from the trip, needs time alone and per his slack comments, seems to still be irrationally upset Shula didn’t give him a plus-one to his wedding. Coming home (with a lot of really cool GoPro footage) as a changed man, Grant now titles himself as “Papa Zion.” Thankfully it is funny…this way none of us have to relive the awkward and honestly weird moment in the DiGregorio’s basement in 2020. Speaking of which, I can’t wait to hear his team name this year!

Grant enters the auction with a sizeable cash flow and Jonathan Taylor! I thought his purchase to get Taylor for $12 was a great buy. Taylor proved to be a strong back in 2020 and man can the Colts OL run block. Plenty of cash to chase down his 3rd fantasy title…Grant can make a deep playoff run assuming he comes out of the auction on top. I have also heard this manager is willing to SPEND in the auction!

5). $188. Peter Martin.
History! Welcome to the league Primetime Pete Martin! I think everyone agrees we are all excited about your presence in the BBC. After years of absolute scrutiny, attack, and weekly complaining about Tom (spearheaded by Stephen and reaffirmed by others), I think we all agree you have been a welcome addition to the BBC. At the minimum, you can’t be worse than: AJ Brown for the Colts D, forgetting to submit your keeper, Thomas Rawls for a 3rd, leaving the auction with $20, Selling Todd Gurley in the ’17 playoffs, and more.

This year, Peter will look to get the hang of things in the BBC. One thing he has made clear is that he loves Justin Jefferson. This was proven when he bought JJ for $12 when he was sold to Stephen for $10 like 4 days earlier. SKOL VIKES!

6). $155. JAWS Earl.
I’ve come to realize that between the Kincaid family, his living in Alaska, the 2002 Land Cruiser (and more) …there are few who tell more interesting stories than Jaws. All I know is I am here for the next story that pops up in Slack. For example, in his most recent trip to the “lower 48” JAWS spent $41 at CFA. “I got two deluxes, nuggets, a salad, fries, lemonade and a shake.” There is truly no one like Jon JAWS Earl.

Recently, Stephen pointed out to me that he has seen Jaws almost every year since he took his talents to Alaska. Incredible! I can’t get Justin to see me every year and he lives 8 hours away from me! I know all of us appreciate you making the effort to come to the lower 48 and wish we could see you more!

As far as fantasy goes, Jaws looks to continue to impose his unorthodox, yet, always effective decision making. I personally would not have kept Gibson (projected RB11) over Diggs (projected WR3)…but this will work out for him. Gibson certainly showed flashes last year. Look out for this manager in the auction! Jaws always finds a way to get his guy!

7). $125. Justin Santoro.
Another year, another kid for Justin. He and Earl are absolute animals in the sack. When he’s not having sex, he is in Columbus, Ohio at Laura’s parents or golfing Pebble Beach.

History! Justin made the playoffs! He is seeking to take this fantasy mojo forward as he tries to capitalize on his current fantasy prowess. Justin keeps an awesome WR1 in DECAF METCALF and hopes his production carries his team this year. He will be missed this year at the Live Draft, but not forgotten.

8). $95. Ethan Shula.
Welcome to the married life Ethan “Swift Buffalo” Shula! A #BeMassive congrats to he and his new bride. I heard the wedding was eventful, fun and a good time. The Petrel’s wish we could have been there.

Highly criticized for his timing in buying Ridley, it looks like it will pay off. Julio is gone, Ridley is a star and now ATL has Arthur Smith running the show. Notorious for always asking when we draft, I feel the need to remind you the draft is the same weekend every year, Labor Day weekend. We look forward to seeing you virtually from Erie, PA as you bring your no-none sense drafting approach to the auction.

9). $56. Josh Petrel.
The Petrel’s had the pleasure of hosting the Schindler’s for a night a few weeks ago. During this visit, it was brought to my attention that Eric had been plotting against me for “weeks” trying to convince owners NOT to buy CMC. Well, within 20 minutes his dumbass plan came to an absolute desolation as Alex bought CMC from me. Nice work, Eric.

As I enter the 2021 fantasy year, I will look to sell Nick Chubb on auction night and prepare for 2022. Please let me know if you would like to purchase Nick Chubb.

10). $45. Steve Ellis.
A big move on the horizon for the defending champion. Steve looks to take his two Rack’s to Cincinnati to move closer to family. A quick reminder that The Queen City is in Charlotte, NC…NOT southwest Ohio. Anyways, excited for you and the move!

Not much to add here other than Steve looks to 2022 and wants to sell AK on draft night…so feel free to contact him as needed.
