1). Captain Hook and Ladder (7-1)
New week, and another 145 point onslaught brought by Steve. In my opinion, we are witnessing the greatest fantasy football run in BBC history. Not only is Steve’s team strong, but he literally cannot make a bad decision. I have never seen anything like it before. This week, Steve picked up Marvin Jones Jr off of waivers and played him is his flex. This resulted in 23 points for Steve. Will the fantasy fortune run out with this manager this year? The only thing Steve has to worry about is the Rams sitting out Todd Gurley at the end of the year. Definitely something to monitor, but until then, this team is on its way to a BYE.
2). I Am Rory (6-2)
With a massive showdown against ‘Gary’ this week, my team prevailed. Critical in the process of ensuring a BYE, I have Alvin Kamara and Gary’s lack luster performance to thank. The need for at least one WR continuous to prove itself to be true. Looking to continue to ride my backs, I have the same potential issue as Steve in that my star RB’s could sit later in the year. KC might not lose another game, so Hunt could sit…the Giants are reprehensible, so why play Saquon…but until then, I look to get production out of a WR.
3). The Cluster Screw (5-3)
“Shula-prepare to get your ass kicked this week” were the exact words of this Alaskan man. Jon ‘JAWS’ Earl comes in at #3 this week after an absolute domination of Ethan. Earl is never afraid to talk smack to anyone, because he genuinely believes in his team more than anyone (other than Eric). Scoring 146, Earl backed up his smack talk to Ethan with every position starter scoring at least 1 TD. Earl is definitely in the mix for a BYE as the season continues. Arguably the strongest WR’s in the league, two solid RB’s and a deep bench to plug in his flex (Eric, Earl’s bench is what depth actually looks like) Earl has a real shot at the second BYE. He will need a lot of production out of AP and McCafrey moving forward, but this team is strong, firm, and can penetrate when called to rise.
4). Yarvard U (6-2)
It appears that class is actually not in session this week. ‘Gary’ comes in at #4 in this weeks rankings due to his loss to me. I have Earl above him in the rankings for the sole reason that I like Earl’s roster more moving forward. That being said, Gary does find himself in a position to fight for a BYE. To be honest, it would make sense that Gary gets the BYE because it makes no sense how his roster has constructed 6 wins. Another manager in the BBC explained to me in an exclusive interview that “it’s about time his team lost. His team sucks.” It might suck, but it has 6 wins and credit to Gary for making trades and inputting guys based on matchups. Also, credit to him for making his way to the playoffs for the second straight year.
5). Grande Se Cador (4-4)
Tom scored a very formidable 99 points this week, only to fall to Steve, who scored 145. That means he lost by a total of 46 points. While Tom looks to be a lock to make the playoffs, his team has taken multiple hits over the past few weeks. Melvin’s hamstring issue could be cause for concern, Hyde sucks now and Le’Veon doesn’t seem to be coming back anytime soon (side note, even if Bell does come back, he and Connor will split carries. No way the Steelers sit Connor on the bench after his performance this year). Tom does have Adam Thielen who is fantastic but Tom hates trading, so we will see what happens moving forward. He will look to package Hyde and Robert Woods for a RB2 but given the market, it probably isn’t anywhere close to enough. Could we see Evans, Thielen or Melvin on the move?
6). Dixie Normous (4-4)
Everyone in the league is rooting for Alex to lose and everyone will continue to root for Alex to lose. Much like the ‘already, not yet tension’ in the Christian faith, Alex faces a much less important, yet similar, tension with his fantasy football team. He scored 101 this week, but you just get the feeling that his team can’t put it together in the same week. He still has a very strong shot at the playoffs, but faces a similar question as many others in the league if they can beat Steve. Alex looks to continue to ride his winning streak to the playoffs, giving everyone else in the league the proverbial middle finger. Also, what are the odds Alex will read these power rankings? I always feel like I have to check.
7). Nick HAD a Chubb (4-4)
Shula has now dropped three straight to put him right at the .500 mark for the year. Coming out of the draft, Ethan had one of the strongest teams on paper…but then the Dalvin Cook Saga happened and he’s been hurting since. He received strong production out of his team this week, but the question lingers over his head if he should sell or not. Right now there are seven teams for six spots and three of those teams have the same record going into Week 9. Should he quit right now? Probably not. But this team will need to make strides in the coming weeks to keep his playoff hopes alive. The most impressive thing Ethan did this week (and quite frankly maybe since BBC weekend), was his Halloween costume as Mr. Rodgers. Ethan actually looks like Mr. Rodgers. He should come up with a team name that has something to do with that.
8). DUGE HICK (1-7)
“I PLAYED THE RIGHT MIAMI BACK YINZ BITCHES” was the story of DUGE HICK, this week. Grant ‘Porterhouse’ Kovac comes in this week at #7 for his immense win over Eric. Grant can finally feel the pressure off of his shoulders for not having to deal with the nightmares of going 0-13. Still up for the WMOY award, this manager has at least proved himself to be faithful to the league by setting his lineup, going after players on the WW and being a good sport. Unfortunately, that can’t be said for everyone in our league. Best of luck to DUGE HICK, moving forward.
9). Yo Adrians (2-6)
Believe it or not, I actually think Eric’s team is better now than it was coming out of the draft/after selling all of his players. With his loss to Grant, Eric falls to #8 in this weeks Power Rankings. He has had some luck in finding Marlon Mack and Nick Chubb, but it doesn’t matter because he has literally no shot at the playoffs. Eric is very much in the running for the WMOY award with Grant. Eric looks to play spoiler this week against Ethan as he tries to diminish his playoff hopes.
10). Prison Mike’s Riot Squad (1-7)
No one has had a more unfortunate year than Justin. McKinnon and LF getting hurt left Justin with some less than ideal options. That being said, Justin continues to not be involved on the WW and refuses to try and play spoiler. How do I know this? Well, he has played Jordan Reed who is the 14th overall TE every week this year. Justin looks to out-duel Grant and Eric for the worst record in the league moving forward.
