Power Rankings: Week 9
1. Knights of a Knight (7-2): As we quickly approach the final third of the fantasy season it goes without question that this is the team to beat. Alex essentially has seven players in the top 10 at their respective position. This team is so well balanced that he can’t even consolidate talent because he either has it all or others don’t have enough to give him. He will get a BYE and is the favorite to win yet another title.
2. Yo Adrians (6-3): The second BYE is completely up for grabs at this point, but I give this owner the best shot to grab it in the final four weeks of the season. It’s completely ridiculous that the commissioner of this league leaves unannounced without any warning to the other nine owners. He escaped with a victory after only scoring 77 this week. Josh gave up Russell Wilson a week too early.
3. Kig Bahunas (5-4): For what it’s worth, I believe this owner has fallen asleep at the wheel. He refused the opportunity to get Mike Evans and instead to chose to spend $40 on Adam Thielen in a run-first Minnesota offense. There’s been two WR’s this year who have 50 yards receiving in every game this year: Michael Thomas and John Brown. Grant dropped John Brown in favor or Eric Ebron, played him for one week, and then dropped him. Hard to imagine making such an egregious blunder. Grant is hoping for Melvin’s production to rise with a new offensive coordinator in LAC.
4. Voodoo Mama Juju (6-3): This team lives and dies off the production of second year sensation Lamar Jackson. Ironically enough, this team is named after a WR that’s underachieved all year. I wonder if Ellis regrets keeping his hometown “star” at WR? To contend, Ellis needs to make a splash at WR and spend some money. One could also wonder if Ellis should look at starting two TE’s each week. Henry and Engram are both must-starts.
5. Yarvard U (4-5): After five weeks in fantasy purgatory, this owner finally found a way to win. The trio of Wilson/Jones/Evans allows class to be in session a little more often to close the season out.
6. Prison Mike’s Dementors (4-5): We have to wonder at this point if Justin will miss the playoffs for the fourth straight year. He’s lost three straight and is getting hammered by BYE’s this week. There’s talent all over this roster, and to be honest, I’m not sure Justin has done anything to hamper his success, which isn’t normal.
7. The Cluster Screw (5-4): Earl continues to find a way, despite the holes on his roster. He’s a contender for a playoff spot. In even better news, Earl is taking over Airframes Alaska with a huge job promotion. We miss seeing you, brother.
8. #Hustled (2-7): Shula has been better since he’s sold. Kupp, Drake’s emergence in AZ and Josh Allen give him a chance to score 85 points each week. Earl has 6 total points more than Shula this year if this gives you any indication on Earl’s team so far. Shula attempts to beat Josh to stay out of the cellar and avoid paying off the BBC’s debt.
9. Eyes on 2020 (4-5): After taking what seems to be another month long trip to Europe, Tom chose to sell Dalvin Cook and focus on 2020. This will probably be the first time Tom has missed the postseason since joining the league. Best wishes as you begin your new job.
10. Jungle Cat (2-7): Rough stretch for Kunu. Not a lot of traction for this owner via the draft or in FA. The race is on to edge shula in points/wins to avoid paying the BBC $50.
