1). THE MINORMOUS GELONS (1-0)
Grant ends week 1 as the clear cut favorite as the “team to beat” in the BBC. Leaving the barn last weekend, Grant certainly had some question marks. Kareem Hunt appears to be a top five back moving forward, and of course, Ezekiel Elliot seems to be in line to play this season. He reached for Diggs, but he certainly produced last night on MNF. Will Grant be able to avoid a major injury?
2). DIXIE NORMOUS (0-1)
Say what you want, but Alex will never put together a performance like he did this week. New England will produce starting this week, and he will get more production out of his stars (Freeman & Jones). Dalvin Cook appears to be a bright spot post week 1. Will Cooks be able to fill Edelman’s role in NE’s offense? If not, that was a reach early in R2.
3). YARVARD U (1-0)
It’s uncertain if Schindler actually is as powerful as a couple teams to follow him in this edition of the power rankings as he rode Marcus Mariota and Ravens D to victory over Eric this week. Schindler has major concerns at RB, but will ride the best WR tandem in the league and one of the best in BBC history. Will he be able to find any production out of Crowell, Gore, Powell, Blount, or Coleman?
4). Captain Hook and Ladder (1-0)
As stated above with Schindler, Ellis has some holes that will need to be addressed by someone on his current roster or via FA. Antonio Brown let the world know business is still booming as Ellis boomed his way to a 1-0 start over Shula who seems to still suck after last year. Did Ellis make a mistake keeping Demarco over Jordy? It looks like it early, but time will tell.
5). Prison Mike’s Riot Squad (1-0)
In my opinion, this was Justin’s best draft. He nabbed Michael Thomas and AJ Green in R1, and has a good core of backs to choose from week to week. While scoring below 80, I feel like on paper this roster could boast some monster weeks in the future. Once known as a moron, Justin is growing in his fantasy skill and knowledge. It’s been wonderful to see. Justin looks to be benching AJ Green for a Thursday night matchup against Houston. Too soon?
6). Yo Adrians (0-1)
No one was crushed by Hurricane Irma more than Eric. In week 1 he lost Jay Ajayi and Jacquizz Rodgers. While Terrance West did a formidable job, he missed his backs against Schindler in Week 1. Eric is going to have a difficult time choosing which WR to play each week. Does he regret moving back in the draft to remove himself from such high end talent?
7). The Cluster Screw (1-0)
Earl won again scoring only 75 points. He leads the history of the world in putting together absolute crap lineups and winning. Earl has holes and their noted up and down his roster. Will Hopkins rebound? Will McCaffrey pan out? Will he ever start the right NO back? Will he willingly let Josh continue to screw him over via trade? Earl probably has more questions to answer – like where he’s taking Merrily this weekend?
8). I am RORY (0-1)
Nightmare in Week 1. Not only did he lose, but man he lost one of the best football players in the world for 8-12 weeks. DJ is done for a while and it leaves Josh searching and waiting for answers. Josh has the worst WR’s in the league, and has lost his best player. He will need to look to deal Leonard Fournette or Todd Gurley to upgrade at WR1 and WR2. Rumor has it he’s already reached out to owners using Gurley as bait. How will Josh add after the loss of David Johnson?
9). Grande Se Cador (0-1)
It was nice of Tom to make himself available via phone for the live draft. Many people have had better luck reaching Supreme Leader, Kim Jong-Un, the free leader of North Korea by phone/text over the past few weeks leading up to the best weekend of the year. Tom’s team, while solid in name recognition, has some major questions to address. Is Cooper the best option for Carr in Oakland? Crab looks to be taking over and more importantly, can we ever expect to see production out of Sammy Watkins? Melvin Gordon is a star and will carry Tom all year long. Tom underperformed last year and won, but hasn’t been so lucky to start the year.
10). Ring Your Bell! (0-1)
Shula has finally moved on from More Ice, but certainly hasn’t left his losing ways. While he lost, and only scored 55 points in Week 1, I believe he has reason for optimism. Bell was bad and that won’t continue, Allen is back and needs to stay healthy and CJ Anderson was a steal late in this draft. His inability to leave TY Hilton alone is beyond me. I honestly believe he’d take him at #1 overall each year if given the option. Will Shula rebound from last year’s misery, or will he stay in the basement?
GELONS ARE ON THE MOVE!
Kareem Abdul Ja Bar Malik Hunt…. HHHHOLY GARBANZO BEANS!!!
