1). Captain Hook and Ladder (3-1)
Screw humility! I currently own the best team in the league with the two-headed monster of Zeke and Gurley. My receivers have been average, but I don’t see a need to freak out. Both Allen and Conner have been a disappointment since the deal, but the rest of my team is producing. Sony Michel ran the ball 25 times this past week and he produced. If he or Kerryon Johnson can break out, look out fellow BBC members.
2). Grande Se Cador (3-1)
Patrick Mahomes and Carlos Hyde may be the two best picks of the draft this year. Mahomes continues to tear up the league and Tom has two solid backs in Gordon and Hyde. Tom also makes Josh eat his words from last week as Golden Titties puts up 25 points compared to Golladay’s 7. Tom continues to sweat out the Bell situation, but if he truly comes back during the bye week and doesn’t fake an injury, look out. Tom’s only hole is at the TE position.
3). The Cluster Screw (3-1)
Earl has got to be feeling good after a big win without his two top backs. Since the trade to acquire AB, this team has surpassed 100 pts each week. Kelce is like a top tier wide receiver with Mahomes at QB. Earl, you have come a long way since dealing your 1st round pick for Cam Newton. Also, McCoy is about as useful as single ply toilet paper.
4). I Am Rory (2-2)
Josh’s team has bounced back nicely as his RBs are finally putting up some points. DJ is still not back to his dominate form, but he is at least been active in the offense getting touches. All 3 of Josh’s backs are feature backs which is hard to come by any more. This alone gives him a chance to put up 100 point weeks. The biggest question mark for Josh is at the WR position. I still think Josh won the Golladay trade (see above regarding McCoy), but was it enough to make his team better? We shall see.
5). Dixie Normous (1-3)
Alex is finally feeling what it is like to have points put up against his team. A 1-3 record doesn’t reflect how talented this roster is in my personal opinion, but if Alex keeps playing defenses that put up -7 points he will continue to lose. His trio of WRs have potential to put up major points each week, and the return of Ingram and Mixon could launch him up the rankings in the next couple weeks. This is all dependent on Alex being patient rather than selling his entire roster for a measly 4th round pick. If you beat Alex, be prepared to be called a bastard.
6). Nick’s Got a Chubb (3-1)
If something ever happens to Alvin Kamara, this team is in big trouble. With that being said, Kamara is an animal. Josh lucks out big time as Shula will not have Kamara or Thomas to play in week 6. Outside of the Saints, Shula’s team has a lot of holes. He missed on one of 3 or 4 weeks where Cooper will break out and have a big game as he left him on the bench this week. Every tight end Shula plays gets hurt, and Rodgers is just not himself yet (for both our sake, I hope this changes soon). Shula may want to look into making some moves, but he probably won’t.
7). Yarvard U (3-1)
Stephen continues to grind out wins. This manager has done a fantastic job to get to where he is despite sending away about 50% of his draft picks to hoist the rack last year. With that being said, Stephen has a long road ahead of him, and without solid RBs, this team has potential to drop quite a bit down the list. We know this manager is not afraid of sending picks to win, so don’t be surprised to hear from him in the coming weeks. Matty Ice is going to have to keep slinging the football as their defense is in shambles which bodes well for Schindler.
8). Yo Adrians (1-3)
This team is full of players who consistently put up average scores. Eric needs stars on this roster or he will continue to be average. If someone needs or wants a solid TE for their roster, you should be talking with Eric as he currently has Gronk and Ertz playing each week. This manager should look to make some moves quickly to get some wins as the playoffs are slipping away. Hoober’s WRs and TEs have a lot of potential, but needs some help at the RB position.
9). Prison Mike’s Riot Squad (1-3)
Justin is in some trouble as he is about to face myself and Big Dryer over the next two weeks. Conner has not produced since our trade (neither has Allen) and Fournette continues to sit with a hamstring issue. Not good. Cooper Kupp put up massive numbers on Thursday night last week. I received a text from Schindler stating “I’m done this week.” Well, Stephen, you won because the rest of Justin’s team is a mess. Justin also gets the bad news this week that Bell may be back during the Steeler’s bye week.
10). DUGE HICK (0-4)
This team has remained flaccid since week 1. Very bad year for this two time champ… he may want to stick with boob names. Patrick Mahomes officially kicked this team off the ledge with a 4th quarter drive that put Tom on top by 2 points. Bye Grant.
